I heard she was bad-tempered but the only new addition to her dialogue is that ThingaLinguina is a beautiful WoodElf and Lief usually slobbers all over at attractive female Wood Elves. Lief has nothing to say about female Wood Elves so far, including my present char.
Morgana just offers a series of menus and no substance, kind of a pretty pack guar.
Lief is dumber than Indiana James. The]Our next fight topic of conversation doesn't give an option for weapons even if I give him a choice (crossbow in this case.)I finally had to take his Axe away. He'll say he wants to take off his armor but there is no Remove Armor command.(There is a replace armor command however. What gives here?)
Maybe I'm spoiled by using Constance and Julan. They always keep me off balance which is most of the fun in using them.
So many people write about how fine Morgana is but her grandfather is about the only character with anything to say that I can see so far. Morgana compared to Constance is like a Balerina Barbie compared to a season ticket to the ballet.

That is all a little harsh, wouldn't you say?It is true that Morgana is a more 'primitive' companion mod. I wouldn't say she lacks in dialogue, though...
It is true though that interaction with Morgana and Lief is far less than with later companions. But boring? No. Morgana is certainly not my favourite companion, but she is leauges ahead of any pack guar.

I have to agree with Aidan. I have used Morgana several times, and love it. I am partial to LoKKen since I play Nords all the time, but Morgana and Lief are a blast to have around, and have enough stuff to say to keep me happy. A great mod, interesting and fun, but boring, I think not. Bah!

Possibly I'm being harsh, but Laura Craft fori nstance, seemedto interact and put some pressure on my char. If Indiana James was handsome, sweet and dumb he did'nt get in the way. The menagerie of the Lost Heir finish their quest all too soon IMHO but their combined neuroses kept my char off balance in an enjoyable way (although six companions can be pretty unwieldy.)
I confess that I was spoiled by the team of Constance and Julan. Even after you finish their quests, they have pithy dialogue and contributions (and seem genuinely involved with your char.
Probably, I should have gone through the companion mods in order, using Morgana before using Constance. I teamed Morgana with Julan instead and the contrast was like night and day in terms of character relationships.
Having to work out technical problems like disappearing companiions didn't help much in my feelings about Morgana and her cornucopia of useful items didn't seem to compensate.
After I the first note in this thread, i opened thegame and I just didn't want to continue the line. This has only happened to me once before in four years of playing.
I will probably try Morgana again probably teamed with Constance instead of Julan. That seems to be the steps in evolution of companion mods.
"Roleplaying" a char can become very rigid, what I call powergaming with one hand tied behind your char's back. The companion mods introduce
an element of surprise, and as they have evolved, commentary on the logic of your char's development.
At some time in the future I would like to write a companion mod but my technical skills and equipment probably aren't up to it.
Anyway, I'm sorry for being so harsh on Morgana but then I've never been able to read James Joyce's novels either.

Right now I'm using Julan/Constance again. A great team!
I tried the Companion Friendly Door mod. I ended withso many error messages that I got bored with them. In other words Morgana suffers from terminal glitchiness for me. Maybe in the future...Ufortunately the mod was still boring. I expected more.

There are old mods and there are newer mods.
Witchgirl is an old mod, latest update is from 2003. She is from a time when companion modding was new and the most exciting companion pre-Morgana was a slave warrior girl with less than ten sentences of dialog and no warping or other improved following-script.
Morgana was created before there existed any other modding manuals than what Bethesda provided us with.
At that time she was cool, her dialog was extensive and her following behaviour state of the art.
Same was valid for a T-ford - once upon a time it was a fantastic car.
It still has its values. But I'm sure that someone who is used to drive around in a brand-new Porsche would have complains over the T-ford - not enough fast, no electrical windows, no air-condition.
Probably, the person would understand the fact that the T-ford and the Porsche were not comparable and have the common sense and courtesy to keep his complains to himself. After all, it's up to him if he wants to drive the T-ford or not.
I suggest that you simply delete the mod. It's obviously not for you, and there's no point in you having it in your mod collection. Keep on having fun with Constance and Julan instead, as you don't find them 'dumb boring packguars'. If you want a packguar, there's actually such mods available as well, as a part of the 'evolution'.
As there are still some people who seems to enjoy 'dumb boring packguars' like Morgana and Leif, i will not remove them from my site in order to please those who like you have a more 'sophisticated' taste in companion mods. Simply remove them from your Morrowind, that's all I can say.

Well, if it's any consolation, I once set my D&D party on fire once when I still played pencil & paper. I had just completed the mages guild test, had leveled up to 6, and was thus able to finally cast fireball - which I did - at an inopportune time. Needless to say, they were a bit miffed. Wink
It wasn't entirely all my fault, though. I had warned them that I was going to cast it, but my casting time was longer than expected, and in the interim, the bad guys had closed in on the party.

Some also have to realize that until Tribunal, Morrowind wasn't even set up for companions. It has been a labor of love to place them into the game world, and is "no" easy task, especially dialoge extensive, such as Julan, LoKKen, and Constance.
Morgana is perfect the way she is IMO, and if anyone has a beef with her, tough, use a different companion.
I've been on a Nord kick for over a year (laughs), but am now back to my Imperial Knight, using Julan as my traveling buddy. I've yet to beat the game with any other race than a Nord. Yeah, time for a change, right Osiris? lol...
Oh, BTW, I've also yet to try "Prophecy Of The Lost Heir" but lookin' forward to it once I hit Nerevarine.
And just for the sake of argument, I love all your mods Emma. Without you and Grumpy, the Morrowind modding community would not be what it is today. Cheers and Blessings 2 U.

Agreed. If it weren't for Laura, I would have probably dropped Morrowind a long time ago. It's just not as much fun without a companion in the world. I'm looking forward to meeting up with Constance as well. Morrowind is fun, but the companion mods take it to the next level. It is really a shame that Bethesda doesn't include something like them by default.
