I'm using Unique Landscapes Imperial Isle. I have no idea what that involves or covers.
Could you please help me? I installed some trash mod a while back that converted all female lower garments to panties. Can you suggest a fix?

What trash mod was that?? Any clue re: your load order?
As for UL...I like 'em and all, but they don't really offer much re: adventure and quests once you've seen the sights...so to speak.

Yes, UL is pure eye candy. Some places are delightful, some a messy morass. The no pants is in the meshes and textures, no mod loaded. A common problem of ours. We see some attractive garment and just throw it in the folder then forget what we did. A very nice selection of brocade tops and all the gals wearing g-strings. Bizarre. Spent much of the day yesterday completely reinstalling FNV. Got it working very spiff. That was a dry run for reinstalling Oblivion. I went through all of Brasher's mods and selected what sounded very nice. Then set aside the ones that conflicted with other mods and discarded the ones that relied on the script extended which relies on Steam. That left us with about 40 mods which I'm going to install one by one. I was thinking of posting about all that but unsure as to where to start. I ultimately want to come up with a new Oblivion done with iron clad mods to offset burnout like thenryb described. I wouldn't even attempt an overhaul of this magnitude if it wasn't for how careful Brasher has been and his excellent documentation. Of course the only reason for doing all this is to see how Vilja will look wearing Dark Seducer armor.

That Brasher is certainly a prolific modder. I just need to figure out which of his mods are most appealing and do not require KOTN. I have some eye candy stuff myself just because Oblivion characters are so ugly. One is probably over the top:)

thenryb: Brasher makes "Knights of the Nine" worth playing, in my opinion. His Mages & Fighter guild extensions are also well done...and can be added to via other popular mods...Midas Magic...better advancement...etc. But, one of best non-dungeons is still "Houses of Healing"....it's like 40-50 sub quests. But, my ultimate fav is "Vampire Hunting: The Order of the Virtuous Blood". You'll be jumping back from the mere sight of vampire dust...lol. Plus, he does a good job bringing Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Oblivion...including Mr Pointy. Sniffles: Clothing tends to be in its own folder(s) under meshes and textures. If you have the original offending mod, you can reverse Sherlock your way to the files....tedious...but it can be done. However, I'm not sure how you made such a universal change without an esp causing the problem...clothes aren't usually like the skeleton.nif and upper lower body nif files in the characters folder (which can change everybody's body type). But, hey....this is Oblivion. Fidel Castro could turn-up at the Tiber Septim and I'd only be mildly surprised. There is also the possibility that this universal change is somehow part of your game save....so much to go wrong...lol. The Steam thing you refer to: do you mean OBSE? Oblivion Script Extender? Or something else? As far as I know, the best version of Oblivion is the non-Steam GOTY Edition...I tracked down a few copies just in case I break one.

Spinky suggested last night a mod that puts a bag over everybodys head. Problem solved there. Paper or plastic?
What we hope to accomplish with Oblivion revamped is a whole new world using bullet proof mods. We want as many pedestrian yawn and bored places as possible to be changed or having some surprise. Thus using over 40 mods. This is not going to be the Oblivion we got so bored with. So we aren't just choosing what appeals to us but also gives variety in some manner. I'd like to work with other people so it isn't just slamming in mods, but installing them where they are going to work right without causing game problems.
Yes, the OBSE. Ours is the GOTY edition which one of our tech's techs had revamped into one package of all updates and patches, official and otherwise, SI and KotN, both debugged, along with some bells and whistles like the border 'you can't go that way' removed. It's also got a Steam dummy thing so Steam reliant mods can work but we were warned many of those mods are riddled with problems. This is why we are sticking to Brasher for the overhaul.

There are 255 open slots for esps and esms in Oblivion. Some folks use Wrye Bash to pump this number-up by mass-combining mods (unpredictable results at times), freeing-up slots. Oblivion will run (be sure with Admin Privileges) as long as you don't break that magic 255. OBSE adds what Bethesda took out of the original...which certainly opened the door to a wide variety of excellent mods requiring advanced scripting. Since you can combine 255+ different mods into a soup...no two Oblivions will ever be exactly alike. As for what you're after...all I can say is what my wife and I like (she plays...usually, I build). It's a fun thing we can do together. Lots of dungeons and major quests to investigate or ignore as we chose. Many, many, many NPCs...not necessarily involved in any way with what you're doing...but having detailed lives (AI). Cobl and similar mods to add tons of ingredients around the world. A good hunger/thirst/sleep mod. All the map...I made my own version of Hammerfell, for example...I would like to tackle some of the other regions...but some areas require a LOT of work. Monsters...TESNexus has some good collections. LoversLabs is another place to check-out for more adult oriented mods...there are several excellent modders working over there. Not for the kids, though... Here's a typical NPC mod(s) I use. I've since made my own to go with it. This version of Oblivion I'm running has well over 5000 NPCs. Good thing not in the same place....heh. www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/users/233752/?tb=mods&pUp=1

David can add a lot for you on the dungeon/quest level. But, Oblivion has gotten so huge and complex in its later life that it is hard to say where to begin re: what to add. Vilja for one...lol. I can't imagine Oblivion without her constant chatter in the background. OBSE is pretty much essential....as is Pluggy and a few other gizmos. Otherwise you miss out on some good stuff. Once you have those, 'Grasshopper', much can come to pass...lol. But...not to force you. Some of the more daunting looking mods are daunting for a reason...more like a huge box of puzzle pieces dumped out onto the floor...and not a lot of support to get things right. So, one also needs the time... obse.silverlock.org/www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/23979/?

I agree, you need to do OBSE and Pluggy. Btw I reinstalled KOTN so I will not be limited in choosing Brasher mods. I guess I will suffer through listening to that Prophet scream, locating the unmarked wayshrines and enduring the stilted medieval knight/squire dialogue "Sire, I wonder if I might request a boon". Sniffles-I see nothing wrong there-just no bottoms and the usual Oblivion catcher's mitt female hands.
