Hi everyone. I didn't know where to post this so I thought I'd just start a new thread. Hope that's okay? Anyway, I just came from the 'old' forums where it seems like a ghost town. Locked threads etc.. Not to worry. Emma, you said "Kaffeend, I hope you haven't given up on this forum because of the difficulties we have been experiencing during the last month. Hopefully we should now have reached stability again, it should be fully possible to post again, and I hope to see you come back here again", in the old I'm Alive thread, but the thread is locked. I hope you'll settle down one day! Anyway, just wanted to say 'hi', 'love Vilja so much!' and 'hope to see this community grow again'. Take care and hopefully we'll catch up again before too long.

Hi Kaffeend! Good to hear from you, has been a while. The old forum became less and less realiable, so some months ago I decided to move here instead. Elric has been kind enough to keep the old one online for a while. to give us time to grab threads we might want. So, you're playing Oblivion now? It's great to hear that, because currently, I must admit improving Vilja is taking up so much time that I'm hardly modding for Morrowind at all (although admittedly, I still rate Morrowind as the better of the two games). It's incredibly fun to try to develope a fully voice character, and as I learn, there are more and more things that can be done to make her come alive. (Of course, I'm not working alone, without CDCooley's scripting, she wouldn't be at all what she is today). I got an e-mail from our old friend Llorrac the other day, too... so it seems people leave the ES-community for a time, but then return again... or at least visit.

Thanks Emma. I'll let you know if I fins any bugs or glitches. Currently I've just installed your Aleswell Cottage mod and, as I had already done the Aleswell quest (with Vilja) I got the cottage and gave it to Vilja. I was kinda hoping it would be closer to that waterfall, which isn't far from here, and Vilja thinks this is "the most beautiful place in Cyrodiil". Still, she does love it here, with the view of the IC and surrounding lands. Anyway, better get back before she starts getting lonely and worrying about her sister. I just hope she doesn't ask my opinion on her hair or weight - I'm running out of sweetcakes and strawberries!

Well, I don't know where to put this either. I just ordered Oblivion for my win7 computer, will I need to run it in compatibility mode? (suggestion from customer on Amazon) I know nothing!! I have a few days b4 it gets here and I have to install it. Think of me as a blank slate (who has been back to furiously playing in Morrowind) Any suggestions are most welcome.

There is a few things you need to know about UAC (User Account Control) in Vista/Windows7 when you're installing Oblivion in Windows. 1 - Never choose an installation path for Oblivion or tools to "C:\Program\", "C:\Program (x86)\", "C:\Program Files (x86)\" 2 - Just disable UAC if you can before you begin the installation 3 - The folder for your gamesaves is now in the "C:\User\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Save Here is a very useful site for new beginners - TESIV:POSItiveIf you need any help don't forget us here.

Hi Pete, welcome to Emma's place. Not everyone here does modding (I only dabble a bit, myself, and then mostly with Morrowind), but there's plenty of place here for the fans of mods too. Note that there is a proper 'Hi and Welcome thread' in the Tavern for introductions. -A.
