my character is walking so slowly birds are building nests on him. Any suggestions please. He isn't over loaded. I've double checked that.

Weird, but in SSE, I also have a similar "walking as though overloaded" bug, but I'm damned if I can remember which mod causes it.
It occurs every time I log into the game and to get back to normal I have to open my inventory then close it again, doing that fixes it for that game session.

Could it be a backpack mod? Some of those affect encumbrance when the backpack is in use. It may take an inventory access to cause the adjustment event.

Squishy has some batch .bat file for when slow motion sets in. Resets the player to normal and does some other housekeeping.

Heck just go into console and use TGM. Exit console then pull your weapon. Start to run, stop, go back into console and hit TGM again. I have had Fallout 4 do this as well. For no particular reason.

Yep.. It's one of those things that get stuck in a save. Very much like the infamous the game owes a death so when Vilja gives you a hug you die glitches.
