I've got a pretty full mod list, 291 at the moment, happily stable. But in addition to the models and textures I use, I also have many that change the way SSE plays. Thought I'd share my list, and maybe get some suggestions for other mods that should be checked out.

Thanks! Knew about MHIYH, but not that version. Don't see any info on the download page re: how it's different from the two Nexus SSE versions of MHIYH. What makes it Vilja centric, and does it have an MCM menu, like bchick3's MHIYH2PLUS (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20227)? Do you know if the other SSE versions of MHIYH cause any problems with our gal?

I haven't tried any of the newer versions, Unless they were completely rewritten from scratch paying special attention to quest priorities and Viljas' framework they will destroy her A.I. like the old versions did. Here is what is different. emmates.proboards.com/thread/1737/home-vilja-skyrim-edition

Sorry to bump an old thread - is the non-Vilja specific version of MHIYH(2) unsafe for Vilja even if I don't click on that dialogue option? The Vilja FAQ says " You can run this mod alongside with Vilja, but DO NOT EVER use the dialog topics from My Home is Your Home on Vilja; it will break her AI. The original My Home is Your Home by Volek will start scripts as soon as you have selected the dialogue option "Let's talk about home..." Doing so without even assigning a home to Vilja can break her AI."
And for the Vilja version (thanks for the link), it says in the thread you linked to that NPCs whose homes you set are listed as 'Vilja's houseguests' - does this mean they have to live in the same house as her? I usually use MHIYH to eg put Jenassa in a little house outside Whiterun, to set Erik and Borgakh up in a home together, and so on, I don't really go in for having a bunch of followers all living in my house, necessarily...

It works for any player owned home you are in.

The Book that was added to your inventory should also say who they are and where they are.... I didn't change the functionality of the book, just what it says...

Hmm, interesting list. I would suggest also, but I cannot remember the stupid name.. Hang on... Dang it, it wasn't converted to SSE. www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51868Storm Call only hits enemies...

I looked at that "A Kinder Gentler Storm Call" mod, looks very useful, thanks! It seems to be made up only of an esp and a script (.pex). Might try it out in SSE, after resaving the esp via the Creation Kit, because AFAIK oldrim scripts work fine in SSE.

Technically if it just an esp and a pex, you could just use it as loose files. You can of course easily convert it so that you have a 64 bit wrapper. If you are merging mods.
I used this for a long time as well, but it isn't converted either.

I think Aatrnasyn means re-saving the esp so that it's form 44 instead of form 43, leaving esps in form 43 format can cause CTDs and other issues in SSE.

Went ahead and left the esp in the Storm Call mod (after updating it to form 44), even if it may not have been necessary. Liking very much how this mod changes the targets of the lightning to only hostiles, endorsed! Thank you, Mr. MacLeod, for the suggestion. Also, just added "Player Voicesets" (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27039), choosing the male Dumner voice (for my male Dumner PC MwaKhal NGrat, 'natch)! Loving how I'm now able to audibly dis anyone who gives me the stink eye. Another mod I just converted from oldrim is a helluva scary retexture of the Dragon Priest masks. Couldn't find this one on SSE, kinda surprised by that: Unique Dragon Priest Masks - HD textures (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35117). Somebody, stop me!

The mod that has added the most flavor to my role play has been a combination of "Honed Metal" and Skill uncaper. The first because it allows me to buy descent equipment and I don't have to do blacksmithing or enchanting if they don't fit my character. Also I set the costs in Honed Metal such that it keeps my character poor for a long time. Uncapper because after modifying what gives me experience points, I am not advancing in stuff that doesn't fit my character.
