First off, a huge thank you to Emma & Co for Vilja, the companion I always return to.
Now, I've heard rumours here and there that Emma burned out on modding due to some weird users kvetching on things like the accent, which from the perspective of a Norwegian, and seeing as Vilja's a Nord, and a Nord's Nord at that, seems silly. Anyway, I dig the voice.
But - whatever the reasons may be for ending updates as such - I was watching the most recent Dev Diary from the Skyblivion team ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8Azgum0W7s ), and after a while it struck me that no matter how much I look forward to playing it, Oblivion sans Vilja is all but unthinkable.
So my question is: Is there hope for a Skyblivion version of Vilja from the original team? And if not, would they be willing to give their blessing to other modders trying to do it?
All the best

Skyblivion and Morroblivion have been WIPs for so long that, no matter how playable they may be at present, I still consider them vaporware.
And I absolutely agree, Vilja made Oblivion; without her it is a lonely, dreary, place. Emma stops by here every few months but rarely posts, I've no idea if she is still modding or even gaming.

I certainly hope we didn't offend Emma with our comments on Vilja's name pronunciation. I'm still confused. VeelYA or VilyÄ or or or. But spelling aside how Emma pronounced it is beautiful.
As for Emma and future mods, just going by empathy here, there really isn't another game venue that suits Vilja. She's not really a combatant though capable and Skyrim can be played with minimal combat and less melee. Vika isn't a companion really, she's a character with a life breathed into her that simply doesn't exist to her extent in any other game, NPC or companion. Vilja is an apex and labor of love. Where could Emma go from Skyrim? And then Vilja in Oblivion. Two different games. With and without Vilja. Without Vilja Oblivion is what it is, slap dash quick money maker for the developers. With Vilja it's immersive and the PC's life revolves around her. The Vilja aspect changes the PC's motives and interests completely - outside the sterile box the developers created. Nuff said there.
Constance did the same thing to Morrowind. Threw a huge proverbial monkey wrench into the works somewhat antithetical to the main quest line. Try imagining Constance, Llamasexia and Vivec sitting down together for a cup of tea and what the conversation would be like. As huge a pain in the arse as Constance is, I'd be supporting her compared to those superficial plot devices.
