I decided to re-play Morrowind again, (tired of playing some of these newer games) and went to install COM and now I'm getting several errors about missing files in it. Mostly the toys I think. Can't play unless I de-select CoM. What is needed for...? to help me get this going again?

Just to confirm - this is Children Of Morrowind version 2?
Could you copy one or two of the error messages here so we can try to identify the problem.
I don't recall anything similar from my use of that mod. I think all the resources were packaged together in a bsa file, so it's difficult to see how some of them could be missing.

Did you register the bsa file? If not, that could explain why you're getting those error messages. If so, then it could be a corrupted installation. Try downloading it again and seeing if that fixes the issue.

If you don't have Morrowind installed in the standard folder, you might have to do a manual bsa-reg. There are thorough instructions on how to do this in the readme-file

Wow! So many replies so quickly. I was a member along time ago; however it wouldn't/didn't remember me so I had to re-register. Anyway, Yes! Now that you suggested it, it does seem like it is not getting the BSA correct. A message did say it was active; however, I didn't check after that. I will do so and get back with you.
Here are some of the error messages from warning text;
"Model Load Error: Meshes\Em_kids\em_rockinghorse2.NIF cannot load file in Meshes\Em_kids\em_rockinghorse2.NIF. Will use the default object Marker_Error.NIF. Model Load Error: Meshes\Em_kids\em_tk_Sandbox2.NIF cannot load file in Meshes\Em_kids\em_tk_Sandbox2.NIF. Will use the default object Marker_Error.NIF. Model Load Error: Meshes\Em_kids\mel_playgr5.nif cannot load file in Meshes\Em_kids\mel_playgr5.nif. Will use the default object Marker_Error.NIF. Not able to find Foot part in BC_common_shoes_04_M. Not able to find Foot part in BC_common_shoes_04_F. Not able to find Foot part in BC_common_shoes_04_M. Not able to find Foot part in BC_common_shoes_04_F. Not able to find Foot part in BC_common_shoes_04_M. Not able to find Foot part in BC_common_shoes_05_F. Not able to find Foot part in BC_common_shoes_01_F. Model Load Error: Meshes\Em_kids\1em_child_de_115n.NIF cannot load file in Meshes\Em_kids\1em_child_de_115n.NIF. Will use the default object Marker_Error.NIF. Model Load Error: Meshes\Em_kids\1em_child_DEh115a.NIF cannot load file in Meshes\Em_kids\1em_child_DEh115a.NIF. Will use the default object Marker_Error.NIF. Model Load Error: Meshes\rt\rt_skinc_de_UT.nif cannot load file in Meshes\rt\rt_skinc_de_UT.nif."
And here are the instructions on the BSA install;
"If morrowind.ini [Archives] section is up-to-date, program will just display appropriate message and exit."
It did display this appropriate message....., and it also said that;........,
"Utility can be run from anywhere, since it looks for Morrowind's installation in the registry."
However, I have Win7 and and it is also 64 bit, and this OS has a "funky" way of fixing an install of Morrowind in a by-passed folder so it will run/play correctly, so it is just possible that the BSA can't find the right/correct directory.
And, I'm back. And no the only BSA's are tribunal and Bloodmoon, so it didn't get registered as it stated. Ha! One would think that such a high 'n Mucky OS would be able to figure out such a tiny little thing like this. Instead it leaves it up to someone with ought the knowledge/wisdom to do so.
If I can't get this fixed I will be back; however, I think that this is the solution, and I thank all of you for your attention and especially your help. Emma! I believe that this is the first time youve ever addressed me. WoW! I'm flushed. I've played with your mods for so long I wasn't sure if you were even real! WoW! Just Wow! LoL!
Hey! Does anyone know if Neko is still around? Tell him that I am still playing with his mod Sakaki Manor.
Bye and thanks again for everything.

If you can't easily fix the problem, it's probably a good idea to remove Morrowind, and reinstall it elsewhere - in particular outside the "Program Files" directory, as Vista and Windows 7 have some perverse ideas about what you can do there, all in the name of security.
I have long preferred to keep my games in a directory such as C:\Games\ .
Basically, you should be using a non-admin user to play the games. But if you try to install into the "Program Files" directory as a non-admin user, you will fail (but your installation will take place in another directory instead, something like "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore", with a suitable redirection). Good idea in theory, but it seems to cause problems in practice.
I'm glad that I use Linux/Wine instead, which avoids these problems - it provides good security without the infamous "UAC" hoops to jump through. On the other hand, it does have interesting problems of its own in handling audio and graphics, with each game seeming to require a different solution.
Not surprised that the site failed to recognise you - the old site at ElricM was getting painfully slow and unreliable, largely because attempts by spammers to get in were bloating the logs to the point there was sometimes no room left for new content. So we have moved to this new site, and the old one was closed. Unfortunately it wasn't a clean transfer, so members registrations weren't copied across, and content has had to be copied across manually where we felt it was worthwhile to do so.
Yes, Neko is still seen around here occasionally.
