Hi, I recently heard about Companion Vilja and installed the mod, i was (and still am) very happy with it, i have been using the mod for almost a week. ;D However, as i added more and more mods, especially custom armors, i have encountered a slight problem. The problem is when my character or vilja wears some of the custom armors she begins to complain about my outfit and the friendship level starts to decrease ( dialogue changes and what not). i was wondering if there is a solution to this and allow me to wear what ever i want without vilja complaining? :-/

What's happening is that Vilja will be upset when you are nude or when you make her go nude.
The system used for her to notice nudity is the monetary value of clothing. If someone's is not wearing anything with value, is because is not wearing anything. In vanilla only Mythic dawn robes lacks value, but being this cult your enemies, there is a logic reason for her to be upset about any of you wearing that.
As some mods adds armors without monetary value, the system is fooled. What you can do, is wear some jewelry with value (the same is applied for her). This way, you are wearing something with value and so you are dressed.
Besides that, as she known you better, she will tolerate nudity as far as it didn't happen inside a town (quite embarrassing).

One thing to think of before using outfits with 0 value: Although they don't show it as clearly as Vilja, also *all other* npcs will like you less if your clothes are of low value. The clothing value is one of the things that affects total disposition, i.e. how people will treat you and what your chances are to haggle or charm people.

I have played Oblivion for years and didn't know that. Thanks for the information. I am using alternate start by ship and the orginal outfit for my character, the adventurers outfit, has no value. I am glad I didn't try to get Vilja as a companion before I got some decent armour. Do you know if Fergus would react in a similar fashion? Now I will have to do some experimenting. This is a lot of fun.
