Well, I haven't seen any thread about Julan, so I hope there's still people who could help me with a weird issue I'm getting at the third trial part of the path of the incarnate. I solved the riddle to find Azura's shrine and got there as usual, but the game won't let me get in even though it's dawn, with Azura's voice telling me that the key is the star as if I wasn't at the right hour and another message about having to check on some Shiani, whom I believe to be some NPC that should appear either later or should have done so before, but something went haywire (although this is the first time I notice anything broken in the quests). I tried to force the quest to update by telling Julan to wait and teleporting myself inside with coc. The quest goes on as usual but when I try to speak to Julan, he leaves and I have to go after him, except I have to check on someone I don't even know, after checking on her mother. I assume this person is that Shiani, but since I don't know her yet, I have no idea where to find her and I doubt she'd give me the right topic anyways.

Well, thanks for the link to that thread, it helped me find out I had to get Julan drunk to speak about her. The problem is, I keep reading stuff about Shani going missing and similar things about events that haven't happened for me yet and I'm still stuck at Azura-won't-open-the-door. I checked that third reply, but it's about fixing Julan flagged as dead, and I haven't found other replies that hint about what do I have to do with this Shani to be able to progress in the MQ. So yeah, my issue is that no one in the game is giving me any clues on how to proceed, Julan won't say why can't we get in after agreeing with me that visiting the cavern was important, so if not for your reply, I wouldn't even know how to find this Shani.

Been a while since I played Julan. I think I had this same problem. I just forgot how I solved it. Doing things like this could break everything. I recommend that you load a save made before you did that. Then try what Loriel said.

I know, that was just an experimental attempt to see how things progressed, so I used a test save for that. It obviously didn't turn out well, so I went back to my save right before attempting that and tried the getting him drunk thing that I explained in my last post.

There used to be a short official FAQ at princess.elricm.net/JulanFAQ.html - but unfortunately that site appears dead, and I don't know if the FAQ is now hosted elsewhere. I agree that the mod is rather short of hints for what to do next, and I found that reading the relevant episodes of Aeronwyn's tale at morningstarlady.livejournal.com/ gave me some useful clues. Try around morningstarlady.livejournal.com/208762.html and morningstarlady.livejournal.com/211043.htmlAs I recall, the requirements are something like this: - Train Julan (enough for him to want to try Red Mountain)
- Accompany him up Red Mountain
- Train him some more
- Get him drunk (I think it needs to be in or near certain cities - probably Vivec and/or Balmora)
- Wait for him to recover (takes ages)
- Explore dialogue for Shani and Julan's mother.
- Visit Vos to buy a gift for his mother, and visit the nearby camp.
- Talk to Shani (I think Julan needs to be elsewhere for this)
Hope this points you in the right direction. Loriel

Yes, the mod has been clear up until now, but I managed to get the looking for Shani quest and I guess I'll be able to continue with the MQ after that's done. I think everything should be pretty straightforward for now on (except the part where I have to find her, but I can probably handle that), so if everything goes well, I won't need to post anything in this thread no more. Thanks a lot for the help, it's good to see that I'm not the only Morrowind player left who is also using this particular mod.
