I'm very new to the Vilja fan club, only discovered her a week or so ago, but already I just cannot imagine her with any other voice, she would simply just ... not be Vilja. Please add my vote to the voice/accent "like it" list

Skyrim wouldn't be the same without Vilja in it now. I especially like it when she comments on what I'm doing in the civil war. Also her accent is perfect for Skyrim - Sweden is a Scandinavian country afterall, and definitely fits the tone.

I just found this mod about a week ago but have been using it constantly since downloading it. I normally hate adventuring with companions because they generally are flat and boring (both vanilla game companions and user-created companions) but Vilja actually feels like a companion and not just a random extra dps/healer/meat-shield. She perfectly fits my play style, stealth, with her being the archer to my close combat style. Plus the storyline for her as a character is compelling and absorbing. I actually feel like I am adventuring with a person not just a digital creation. As I said in the thread about Vilja needing to sing more, I find the voice acting compelling, lyrical, and downright amazing. I didn't realize at the time that the actor was Emma but all I can say is if you changed the voice I would have to stop updating my mod so I could keep the original accent. I think your voice fits perfectly for the character, she wouldn't be Vilja without it. The pacing is fine for me, but I am a good-ole Southern (USA) boy who is used to a slower more relaxed speech pattern. As for the English itself, I find you speak my native language better than 90% of the people born to it. Maybe I am just used to non-American accents as my advisor in grad-school was Swiss and the lab I did my research at had every accent imaginable, from French-Canadian, Bulgarian, German, Russian, to Indian so hearing yours is just part of Vilja's unique character. As for the detractors... One of the thing about us Americans is that we all have our own opinions and usually only the loudest, biggest assholes are the ones heard above the rest of the masses. That is why we have idiots like George Bush and Barack Obama as presidents when they only represent the views of less than 5% of the population. Just ignore the idiots and let your endorsements speak for themselves. I also think that your mod being at the top of the companions list in www.skyrimgems.com/ says quite a bit about the overall opinion of the mod. So basically your voice is perfect for the best (by far) companion mod out there. The only thing I can add is, please, please sing some more for us...

Forgot to mention this... One of the things I love most about Vilja is that she is not your stereotypical user created companion. She wasn't created as a what I like to call "sex slave" or as the uptight no-nonsense "Victorian" type of personality. She actually is like a real woman, softly sensual, playful (in a non-erotic way), slightly lacking in self confidence, and fully capable in holding up her end of adventuring. I like the fact that with her I am waiting for that kind and playful comment and not whether it is time to jump in bed with her. My toon, Alex, would be more happy snuggled up to her beside the fire just talking or listening to her sing rather than just going through the motions of sex. I have a feeling that if an intimate moment ever does happen between the two that it will be the culmination of a relationship built on trust, friendship, and loyalty not simply out of control hormones. Just a note: I write professionally for a living now so I have a tendency to get inside my characters' heads. I use rpg gaming as a vehicle to develop new character ideas so if it seems like I am taking this seriously I am but I still remember in the end that Vilja and Alex are not real just two imaginative characters created in a virtual environment. So no, I am not stalking Vilja just enjoying the amazing brainchild of Emma. To close, Emma, please, please, add some more singing to Vilja's repertoire

I haven't replied here in a long time, because I don't know what to say except for "thank you" I have to admit that it is still an irresistable comfort to read this thread ever so often, especially if someone has posted something nasty about Vilja or days when I lack inspiration or confidence. To those who asked - there will be more romance and eventually marriage option for Vilja, I am working on since the release of the Solstheim add-on, but unfortunately I haven't been able to work on her at all the past two weeks - first I was in London a week, and then I have had the flu one week, and I still sound more like Heneri than like Vilja when I try to talk. But, the romance track is being worked on and it's my main priority right now. There will be more singing . I haven't heard much comments on my singing since I was a girl and my ambitious teacher ensured that I was performing in the church many sundays. Since then I have mostly been singing in the shower and hardly even that. So I was reluctant to let the Oblivion Vilja sing at all, but still made her sing a little. I have been quite surprised to hear all the positive comments on Skyrim Vilja's singing, but I have been so encouraged by it so for sure there will be more of it. After all, it IS fun to sing a little .

The first time I heard her do one of her "la da das" behind me while we were going somewhere, I just stopped for a moment, and smiled. It adds so much and just seems like the sort of thing she would do.
I've got to get back to Oblivion Vilja one of these days (I have elected to treat them as separate, but related people just as the original story claims).

anytime we are on horseback going...wherever.....,and Vilja starts to sing ,I always toggle walk mode and just sit back and listen. She's so cute.
Also funny(adorable) when she criticizes herself on her singing when at home.

I just can't believe that anyone, except maybe just to troll, would seriously complain about your voice. I was glad to hear another voice in Skyrim. Sometimes it seems like Bethesda only used 5 people for all their voices (I know they didn't, I've seen the impressive list of voice actors), so I was happy to hear a "real" person chime in. Especially one of quality! Now, those other guys you got working with you....just kidding, they were fun too Maybe it's that I see mods as free bits of awesomeness. Are some better than others? Sure, but they're all free and all took time to build. Months and months of labor, just to be given away to strangers with nothing in return. I've thought of getting into modding a bit, just a simple dungeon mod. I'm thinking it might be a way to learn how to write scripts in a fun way. If people have legitimate complaints I will listen all day long and bend over backwards to fix it, but I swear, the first jerk who complains about the color of the walls being a bit too bland can go stick it where the sun don't shine. If I lived in Sweden, I would totally listen carefully for your voice everywhere I went, just so I could walk up to a random woman and say "follow me, I need your help"

I never can understand someone complaining about this mod???
It is far,far beyond the other mods I have used.
I guess if you wanted a follower that was more combat oriented Vilja might not be for you(isn't there enough sell swords in the game?),but to say the mod is bad????or be criticall of the thousands of lines ofvoice overs???really???I have no idea what someone could be thinking saying that crap.
