I've encountered some problems with the unofficial skyrim patch,but I wouldn't worry about it.

Also make sure you are using BOSS mods to make sure you have the correct load order.This can help a ton with CTD's and also let you know if a mod has dependencies another mod also uses,which can cause problems.

I do not know thwe hall of dragon borne mos,so I cannot say if it has known problems with other popular mods.Just be careful when using mods that change the gameworld or change NPC's.

Do you use SKSE?I had major problems with this and Vilja 1.4 and dragonborne dlc. I no longer use it and haven't had any problems since.'

I'm just sharing my personal experiences.Honestly I have little idea what I am doing,so often times I encounter,or have encountered problems others may have .

I currently am having issues starting part 2 of the white phial quest (I never got the message to return to Nurelian)..so maybe there is a problem. I just didn't think it had anything to do with Vilja

I also was NOT kidnapped by Astrid ater I killed that horrible woman at honorhall orphanage.No idea why.I thought maybe it was because of using frostfall ,the next time I slept,I slept in a campsite with Vilja traveling to Shor's stone.....not really sure.

Small issues though, and I do not think they relate to Vilja.

As far as I know, Astrid isn't supposed to kidnap you until you have left Winterhold, so sleeping there won't trigger the kidnapping.

Never got kidnapped and can not start the quest?

My current Dunmer is a theif.I wanted to see how Vilja woul
d react to a friend (or more) that is a life long theif.

I kinda create a back story for every character I create and then play the game based on the past influence each new character has based on a made up prequel past history.

Currently playing an orphaned Dunmer that survived by well...lets say, morally ambiguous behavior.

You're definitely experiencing a bug. My suggestion is to look up the quest stage on the Wiki and use the console to move to the kidnapping stage or later if you prefer.

I deleted Vilja did 2 clean saves and did then the task that bugged her , then reinstalled Vilja and did her quests again , I found out that the mods not bugged her but it was something with fast travel and the auto saves with it so I did no more fast travels and use no more auto saves tagged off wait ,rest ,and zone save in menu , I do now manual the saves and always new ones and delete the old ones , from the moment I did this 4 days ago and I play lot hours every day , I have no more that bug that deleted the quest line from Vilja .

I just had to sign up to say that Vilja is my favorite skyrim mod. I just started playing about two weeks ago and stumbled into Vilja on skyrim nexus and I am hooked. I love your accent and would pay to listen to you sing (your voice is truly magnificent). In short, your time and effort were not wasted on this player, I am now a die hard Vilja fan and am indebted to you Miss Emma, and everyone who labored to help bring Vilja into being...bravo!

I purchased Hearthfire and tested it , sorry but this expansion is not what I was hoping ,first the spots to build houses are horrible , then the children , in the begin you got some stuff to do , give them nice clothes , a steel dagger , you see them train then , a pet ( it was me big mistake to say yes about that fox ) , after some days you got only interacting when the ask money or a gift nothing fun anymore . So I think to reload a old save file from before I installed heartfire save it again and delete everything I did after it then reinstall heartfire and only upgrade me houses like breezehome ,and the others ( like in solitude ) so the get children rooms , maybe EMMA and her team make later a sub quest in Vilja her home country , where we can adopt 2 nice girl children like she did in morrowind ( white wolf of lokken ),saw the children in heartfire play flute ( but no sound ) , was thinking if its possible for emma to make a sub quest some thing like , a old friend from Vilja came not to her wedding with her hubby ,the day after the wedding vilja got bad news that her friend on the way to the wedding run in some bandits and the killed the parents and kidnapped the 2 young girls , then start the site quest to find them and save them , after this done we can adopt them ,I think if we use a mod make by emma and her team its more easy for emma to let us interact with the children , like vilja can play music for them at home ,or teach them to play flute , lute ,things like that and we got the choice to live in vilja her home country ( if the house have there a children room ) or Skyrim . don't know what Emma and her team think about this idea and if its possible.

I have said this elsewhere but let me repeat it here.  Emma your claim that you are not a professional voice actress is only because you haven't asked money for it.  I am a documentary film maker having worked my way up through my career as a sound recordist and then as a director.  I have recorded the voices of people you would all know and the hardest thing for any actor is to find the right tone and pitch to suit the attmosphere.  I can give you dozens of examples where Emma's delivery is perfect.  The "delicious deer" joke comes to mind where not only is the timing suburb but the tone which begins as dreamy and then plunges into voracious for the punchline.  "Rock, paper, scissors" is not a fun game but I keep on playing it just to hear Vilja say "sCissors".  Vilja is just Soooo funny and she wouldn't be funny to thousands of players if her voice was in the least bit unprofessional.  It would gnaw at you and it wouldn't work.  It does work because it's done very professionally.

I think Emma means she's not a professional because she has no official training. Natural talent, though, that is something she has in abundance.

Generally people use the "I'm not a professional" statement to allow themselves more latitude for mistakes and they are stating a fact. People not paid are amateur rather than professional. Unfortunately, the statement also carries with it a sense of self-put down because it is used as a defence against criticism. One thing I didn't mention is that people like Nicole Kidman, Russel Crowe, Christopher Plummer, and Max Von Sydow who are all great character voice actors have something that Emma doesn't have: a sound recordist setting up the microphone and recording levels as well as matching ambience tracks. But we forgive that :-)

Listening to this particular discussion over the last several months it is clear to me that those critizing don't run the game with subtitles. I always do since so often dialogue from all characters can be drowned out by background sound like waterfalls, and other effects as well as overlapping dialogue. What gets me mad is that a lot of the criticism is pure xenophobia and these... fools... tread on my field of expertise for their ammunition when they say that Emma isn't very good. It's just not true.

I hope we go have one from this days news about the ronce upgrade from Vilja in Skyrim , While I waiting for it I installed back the old game oblivion that still got from years ago played never there with a companion mod , while in morrowind I played every mod emma created ,so I downloaded Vilja for oblivion and play with her in oblivion while waitng for upgrade from the skyrim one .
