Emma, I wonder , as there are now so many companion friendly beds and (bedrolls available in tents) whether an option, as well as the original, could be put in her dialogue:
"We will sleep here tonight, Use one of the beds "........or something to that effect. The reason I ask this is that her own bedroll can end up in mid air and it doesn't clear after use.
Thank you

if there are companionfriendly beds around, you don't have to tell her to use the bedroll at all. Just tell he to relax here for a while, and she should automatically use the available beds.

Emma,I use this tent mod. I find it to be very user friendly and have used it for sometime now. ....UPS Portable Camp 087 fixed 18011-0-87...Contains two chairs and two bedrolls.
In here Vilja when I suggest we relax(at night) she has only used a bedroll twice.Other than that she has gone and sat down on the chair, of which there are 2,and is still sat there in the morning.
Happy New Year to all of you also. May Vilja's adventures prosper, I'm waiting for her to start hinting about marriage now she is hugging Urik.

I like to use the havoc enabled bedroll mod.I use this so I can carefully place a bedroll for her.works great for me. On a sidenote. In the game whenever an NPC's is performing an action(and In you're service). When you sleep time stops for the follower and they will continue on once the game begins againjyou wake up) Villa will Not sure if this is the reason, just a suggestion.Have you tried staying awake until Villa goes to sleep first? PSposting from my phone and it will not let me type V I l j a as one word.

If she is in follow-mode, she will, like other companions, not go to bed (or, let's say she won't go to bed until you are asleep and she will wake a few minutes before you . She has a sandbox while following, but it won't allow her to sleep. For good reasons. With such a sandbox-sleep package, she will go to sleep ever so often and in the weirdest places, so better not let her do it..,

Its funny because sometimes when I lay out a bedroll for her at an Inn,sometimes a random patron will go to sleep on it. Usually I just roll it up and leave them sleeping on the floor. After all ,how dare they take Villa's bed
