Ok.So first let me preface this by saying I have about 260 hours on 2 different characters with the Vilja companion mod.I love it.Such an incredible and in depth mod. 1.3 has been amazing so far.Loving it.Some amazing suprises!! Some questions I had was, I had asked Vilja to fletch some arrrows and gave her 13 dwarven ingots and 12 firewood. She gave me 11 arrows back.Is this intentional or due to a low smithing skill?I love the roleplay options of the mod ,but I also love some of her functions above and beyond a normal follower. This seems really tedious as well as woefully expensive and inefficient. Also, as many of my characters have grown with Vilja,I was wondering if she could, at some point, be able to craft some higer level items once she reaches a certain level or maybe hit points(if she does not level like a normal follower).Nothing imbalanced or overpowered, but maybe something that could be more use to higer level characters. Maybe, as she travels and grows with you, once you hit level 40+ she can get a few higher level recipies. For instance the ability to fletch elven and or glass arrows.Maybe a new food type with a small buff(like the homecooked meal provided by a spouse)and even though Vilja is not found of Alchemy maybe she could learn 1 or 2 higher level poe-chuns(potions as Vilja pronounces it . I just thougth it would be nice and add some more depth to the immersion, that Vilja could learn a few higher level recipes for higer level characters. Even though at times Vilja can be a pest ::)She is amazing and I could not imagine playing without her. Just some ideas. Hope some day I can marry her as well Anyways, thanks for all the hard work for an amazing experience. It is VERY APPRECIATED

The things about recipes and more advanced items as you gain levels are in the plans already . And so is the marriage part (but I want to see the Dragonborn DLC first! After all the girl is from solstheim so I don't want to do anything that is against the new lore - my own solstheim lore is based on the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind). It will take a little while, though... if you think of it, it's only 2 months since the initial release, which we had been working on for 9 months. Now I believe we have sorted out compatibility issues, little bugs and glitches and adapted to unexpected player behaviour, so it's only now we can start to move forward. Oh, the ingots! She gave you 11 arrows? That's strange, she should have given you ten. Are you sure one arrow wasn't in your inventory already? She should make them in batches of ten, and she needs one ingot and 10 firewoods to do so. I can't imagine the rest of her ingots vanished, aren't they still in her inventory? And, of course, I'm so glad to hear that you do like her

sorry, this phone is terrible to post from.In normal player character smithing,it is 1 ingot + 1 firewood for 25 arrows. So I was wondering if her crafting outcome was different.I see it is.That's fine....and yes,it is possible that she had some ingots in her inventory that I did not see. As far as my requests, they are just ideas and I in no way have any expectations about you're continued development of Vilja.
Most mods heavily reflect there creators play style and so I was curious if there were any thoughts about increasing some of her abilities.
I hope you dnt look at this as any sort of demand.I am sure You will have to entertain more suggestions because the mod is so popular and well done.tis the nature of success.
thank you again and loving 1 .3

Well, maybe I should change her smithing to normal player outcome, then. I just thought the ingots should last longer than the firewood. Oh, I think it is good with playere feedback and suggestions, many of the featuers Vilja has are based on feedback from players in the original Oblivion Vilja mod. And of course I'm very glad that you enjoy it

1.3 has been really great.I had gotten to a point where I beleived Vilja just doesn't like to adventure much at all.
Her chatter/complaints were almost always negative and she was always belly aching about not spending enough time at home(even after we had just spent some 30 hours at home)that I didn't respect her opinion, even during a quest that she suggested we do and other chatter about he shoes, never getting to write in her diary etc.etc.
The chatter seems much more appropraite now.Well done.I spend about 2 days at home over the course of a week and probably 5 out doing quests and what not.Of course, I always leave time for Vilja to perfom at the Inn's and make sure she gets to pick what we do about every 2-3 quests.Have her lead is fun, though sometimes she can drag me across skyrim ,which, even on horseback can take almost a full 24 hours.
I do like the fact that we don't always agree on things.I mean, how often do you agree on everything with another person=)

Wow.Was just checking out you're site.I never played any of the previous games. Those mods look awesome.I wish we had kitty children and argonians and dunnmer too.Farm animals that have a purpose.
I hate when developers...in an effort to streamline a game, remove too much of the daily routines like eating, tending animals, gardening.Oblivian looks cool. This mod has been going a long time.WoW....
welp,it does show.I had basically stopped playing Skyrim till Vilja.

I'm anxious to update my Vilja to 1.3 but I'm concerned to do so and that if I screw up the installation process I'll lose all the progress (for both quest AND romance) that we've achieved so far (Vilja's now in love and calls me sweetheart a lot). So, I'd like words from the wise. Someone who has successfully updated to the current version as to EXACTLY how I go about it. With other mods I'm pretty slapdash and I wouldn't be too concerned about messing up, but THIS mod is too important to ruin. So far I've experienced one small bug that fixed itself and am happy to continue with 1.2 but would really like to see/hear the new content and fine-tunings. I know about clearing Vilja's inventory before doing anything and that a woman appears in the Bannered Mare that will help get me (somewhat?) close to the pre-update stage, but I'd be really grateful if someone could explain the process in full. I mean, do I clear her inventory out and then totally delete the mod before installing the new one, or is the 1.3 update really that, an update and I shouldn't delete anything prior to DLing it? I use NMM in the main but have dropped stuff into the data folder before to do a 'manual' install. Many thanks in advance and apologies for being noobish

You don't have to be concerned. It's very easy. There is no need to make a clean save!If you want, you can empty Vilja's Extra Inventory. Since V1.2.01 it's no more necessary. I've never done this before and never lost anything. But to be on the safe side, you should. Unpack your downloaded "ViljaInSkyrim_ver_1_3"-archive. Overwrite the existing .BSA and .ESP- files in your "...Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data"-folder with the new ones from the archive. Thats it. Continue with your last save and enjoy.

Really that simple? Then that is great news. So, no need to talk to the 'recall your past with Vilja' woman in the Bannered Mare? Thanks for your rapid response, cheers

OK, thank you Angelis, I'll delete the files in the script folder and not overwrite them with the ones in vilja 1.3. Appreciate the help buddy, thanks.

I just experienced a cat-fight between Vilja and Jordis the Shieldmaiden. We were traveling to the Shrine of Kynareth (I asked Vilja to bring me to a favorite place of hers) Just south of Windhelm, a wolf attacks. It's no threat to us and I kill it quickly (lvl 33 Imperial) But then I hear that the fighting is still going on. More wolves I think, but it is Vilja fighting with Jordis and her summoned dremora. Jordis is using lightning spells. I guess she may have accidentally hit Vilja when Jordis attacked the wolf. Vilja kills Jordis and the dremora without seemingly much effort -- she's a tough little blonde. I guess I'll start my Skyrim story soon -- now that I no longer can play NSV because of the update failing. But first I'll play a litle more with my Imperial guy. Was fun when he told Vilja she was clumsy for forgetting the Flora book. I almost thought she'd slap him
