...am I supposed to grab the gold from her inventory after the sale?
When I send her shopping, she's all excited to show me what she bought. That's very cute, and is one of the many realistic touches that make this mod so wonderful.
However, when I ask her to sell my stuff, she tells me she sold it, but never offers the gold. Well, that kind of reminds me of how my real-life bride does things, too, so maybe it's intentional?

I think it is just a small limitation about her AI.The villa mod is a work in progress and always being updated. It is possible it was just seen as not a priority to have dialogue and have her hand you the money.Villa will never get angry about taking things from her inventory, with the exception of her personal items(like her family heirloom dogwood flute).Villa also is not very concerned about gold or valuable items.

I usually make sure she has around 500 gold in her inventory, incise she wants to spontaneously get a drink at the Inn or do some shopping on her own.

@ etherman You are really considering to grab the money? I leave her the money because she has actually deserved it. We share our loot and the profit belongs to her. Even the money that she earns with the performances for the audience. Well ... she wasn't gone shopping lately. I'm a little concerned about what will happen when she goes to Belethor's next time. She has over 12000 gold in her pockets. ;D

For technical reasons, the money Vilja gets when selling your loot will end up in her inventory. You should see that she has more gold there after she has been selling your loot than what she had before. So, it does work. Of course you can grab it from her, she won't get mad at you for doing so! On the other hand, she won't spend the money there, either, so you can leave it be until you need it.

@ Emma: Thank you! That answers my question perfectly, and good to know. @ Angelis: Well, actually...no. I've been pretty hesitant to do that as a matter of fact. It's kind of like in real life: what's mine is hers and what's hers is hers. She works her pretty little rear off keeping me company and entertained, healing me when I get hurt, etc. She's entitled to a share of spoils, no doubt.
