I'd never sparred with her. On our way to a quest destination in Solstheim that recently changed. It was very enjoyable, although I'm still trying to figure out where she got that two-handed sword. youtu.be/uUDHK45XLaM?t=37m14s

It seemed she actually already had it, she grabbed it from her back.
Do you know that if you complete a sparring session until one of you have won, there is a counter keeping track of the winner? If Vilja is in a bad mood and you let her win a sparring session, that will surely cheer her up. If you win, well... I'm sure you can figure that one out for yourself.
If you complete a sparring session, she will commment on it. When you end it in the middle of it, she considers herself the winner, but she doesn't comment and you don't get any disposition bonus for letting her win.

@emma; She doesn't keep score in Oblivion Companion Vilja does she? I remember sparring with her one time and during the session she began to beat me so I shot a spell at her and she stopped sparring and said something like, "What are you trying to kill me." I remember laughing but I never sparred with her again. She's too strong

I play on master level setting, which basically scales all enemies around 200% damage I think. When I duel Vilja I have to kill her fassssst.I can only take about 4 hits from her dual enchanted Azura's moon (dagger class).
But then she yells at me and tells me "are you trying to kill me or what?".
I mean, when we duel, she seems to pull out all the stops (paralyze staffs, chain lighting, sheild bashing)..but if I use power moves, she seems to think that's unfair....kinda seems like sour grapes to me =P
I did love a comment when we dueled once. She came at me with an overhand strike and said"this is for that harpoon comment!",which was the answer to a question she asked me about being too fat.I give her jabs back when she jabs at me sometimes =P.Was really cool though.

When disarmed from her hand, Vilja seeks for the closest weapon available which may or may not be the one lost (depends on item't proximity to character). F.e. during my adventuring Vilja grabbed two handed ancient nord sword after draugr Deathlord shouted out one handed green glass sword from her hand. As I found out after the dungeon was cleared and we were already on our way I gave her unique blue glass Chillwind sword instead. Now I have to be much more cautious about her stuff.

Great call, Vita Vitus. :-) Over about 90 seconds (I went back a few videos) you can see her already shieldless fighting one-handed during a dragon/deathlord fight, she goes around the corner healing herself, and comes back and equips the two-handed sword. youtu.be/Yo8iUCCY84o?t=36m45s
