So as you all know I'm new to Skyrim. I'm wondering if the hi-def mods are worth adding. I've looked at the texts about some of them and the resulting patches and fixes and it seems that there is some doubt as to the benefit of doing it. Can I get some feed back from the community on the merits and/or problems involved?

You mean the high resolutions packs Bethesda released? They have been patched by Bethesda themselbes months ago; everything is fine now.

so long as you have a good enough system, go for it. there are also some player made texture improvement projects as well, some of which replace the hi-res textures and some compliment them, so it's also worth browsing the nexus or other sites as well

Thanks lady and rayvio for the update. I'm running an AMD quadcore with 16g and Radeon 6000 series but wasn't sure since I had seen some negatives comments towards using the HD updates. By the way is there such a thing as too many mods or is it just the point where your machine just won't play Skyrim? I waited till this summer to get Skyrim and am over whelmed with the massive amount of mods out there. It's like a kewl candy store thats free.
