Hi there, have just acquired version 2.0 (it's 2.5 times the size of the previous version- a lotta work here- new lands or something?) Vilja does not like me throwing chain lightning spells in combat, even if she is left of, right of, or behind me. Even wielding a weapon against a foe is not to her liking. Is there any way I can configure her combat package as far as "stay with me- stay behind me- stay in front of me" goes?

not really sure what "does not like it when I do" means? Is that like you are hitting her with AoE spells. If so, that is simply part of the game and holds true for any follower at any time. Those spells are powerful but you have to know when to use them(caves, tunnels and indoors generally bad).
You can also configure Vilja's fighting style in the "lets talk fighting" dropdown in her dialogue menu. You can tell her to get in close and use mellee weapons or stay ranged and use bow/Xbow and or her spells (provided she has the mana-she tends to rotate these).Telling her to stay ranged will generally keep her out of you're AoE spells radius but not always.
Vilja can be a fierce combatant but she generally does not like fighting. If you're talking about her comments welp, Vilja would much prefer a mug of Ale to a sword any day of the week and twice on Sundas. She is feircely loyal though and will follow you anywhere, but that's not to say she won't let you know what she thinks of you're current actions/idea's.
Trust me I know.... Vilja can be quite trying when you are trying to save the world from Dragons, Vampires and another evil Dragonborne and she just wants to go to the pub, go for a walk or lead the way to one of her favorite places. In general she may gripe a little bit but she'll come with you anywhere, you just have to learn to do something she likes inbetween..and if it gets really annoying just leave her home for a while or tell her to not talk so much she won't really mind.
