Another strike against funky crud like STEAM. It's like someone or something else is in charge of part of your computer and can alter or delete whatever they want. Exactly.

.... It's like someone or something else is in charge of part of your computer and can alter or delete whatever they want. It is exactly that. How many posts have you seen on gaming forums "Where are my save games?" or "I can't find my profiles", and the answer is always, "Steam updated last night and moved those files/folders to xxx". That is why I have never purchased anything from Steam and, as long as they continue this reprehensible business paradigm, I never will.

I have used steam for a very long time and never experienced anything like you have. Always been A1 with me.

I think it's more likely that it is Bethseda's taking over. when I reinstalled the 'oldie' it stayed there even with the SE game present.

I have used steam for a very long time and never experienced anything like you have. Always been A1 with me. For me it is the principle. When I purchase anything it is a simple transaction - the merchant gets my money and I get a product. Period. End of relationship. Steam's totalitarian requirement that I accept installation of unnecessary, unwanted, intrusive, and invasive software on my computer merely to purchase a $10 game from them is an absolute deal-breaker. But most of my ire is towards those game developers who decide to ONLY release their games via Steam, thereby denying me the right of where to spend my money.

The Developers, yes that I understand, but steam has in no way interefered with my life, through ads, nor anything else. I have to say tho' that I do have around nine games in my steam library, which means that they aare up to date always and I can't lose them. I can play without the disk in my PC. so if the disk was damaged I'd still be able to play. So for me Steam is ok. There are several games I haven't touched in a year but if I open one it will immediately update without my input.

Thought this would be best added in here rather than a new thread. So I am unable to run any bat files. Anyone else find this issue? I coppied my bats for old skyrim and when run i get a message saying that SE can't find said file. bat "spellsword"

The new patch is amazing, it's so... Glitchy... Edit: The console commands are the same, so as long as it is in the correct directory it should work. Skyrim Special Edition directory, not data or anywhere else... The same place screenshots are placed..

Any word on if Naturalistic ENB is being ported to SE? I'm using that and really miss the look for SE.

So I've been modding SE regularly, ok everyday, as new mods are added to Nexus. In doing so I find I am playing SE more than Oldrim. My reason is the stability can't be beat. If i get a CD I have found there is an issue with the mod conflicting with other mods not the game. The one mod I had issues with was tested by the author but in vanilla. A mod I have, like race compatibility or even USLEEP conflicts with it. I personally don't know anything about checking conflicts so have to guess as to the problem. With out that mod I have not had a CD in any play session. I have stopped doing new games to test new mods and am now building my mod format. I probable will make a new game PC when Vilja is released but I may get to attached to my current PC. I try to stay away from to many mods that have dependents SKSE but there are those that are offered by respectable authors that brought out the basic functions and announced they will update with SKSE being released. Right now I'm tweaking visuals looking for a good ENB/ lighting set up. The foggy look irritates me as being over done. I have lived most of my life in the Rockies and the brilliant clear days I love are not represented at all so far. Reminds me of when there is a forest fire down wind. In oldrim I have the most stable setup I've ever had and I still get out of the blue CD's. I know this will always be there no matter what because of the 32 bit instability.
Oh I die a lot, really miss my two healers Cerwiden and Celestine, and my rings. Looking forward to SKSE and SkyUI. The vanilla interface is like pulling a truck tire around.
