I saw the preorders were already out!
I haven't picked it up yet, but will soon.

I just watched that too, looks nice. The animations are very fluid.
I really hope they borrowed a few devs from iD software to help them make their new engine though. Also, from a modding perspective, I wonder if they will deviate much from the TES3/TES4 way of doing things.

So far, so good, I'm curious to see if something new will be up for this E3 or if it'll be the same stuff.

Looks beautiful. I love the dragons.
I am still waiting to see what are the recommended hardware requirements.

I have to say despite some initial scepticism on my part I'm really looking forward to Skyrim. it helps that I know that even if Bethesda manage to make a complete mess of it (which doesn't look to be the case so far) the modding community will likely eventually fix it anyway, much like Oblivion which now has no end of mods to fix the different issues fans had with unmodded Oblivion

Thanks. Some nice info. A shame about the levitation, though. I just wish they'd said something about the CS. I think at this point I've more questions & concerns about that then the actual game. I'm really hoping that this CS is very different from the CS in Morrowind/Oblivion/Fallout3.

I found some replies interesting too. Good that they are releasing the CS for the PC version, shows the game will still be moddable. Kinda lame that they're making armour into a one-piece jumpsuit. Nice to see Enchantment is back as a skill again. The talk of romance and marriage made me think of Fable 3. Not voicing the player is a good move, although I presume there will still be tonnes of NPC spoken dialogue because Every Game Has Spoken Dialogue These Days.
Mark and Recall is a real shame, I can see how it might break some things but sometimes it's nice to let the player be devious and break the villain's plot by simply teleporting out of jail etc. Still, I'm sure we can add it back in as a mod.
Blockhead: I assume it will be different, since they said they're going with their own engine now instead of Gamebryo. I do want more details though! Especially file formats.
Edit: I particularly hope that they got their Zenimax-owned buddies iD to help them with engine stuff. Doing all that from scratch is extremely non-trivial.

Blockhead: I assume it will be different, since they said they're going with their own engine now instead of Gamebryo. I do want more details though! Especially file formats. I hope so. I want the engine to be completely different for one simple reason: so that the CS will be different. The reason I want this is ... that CS inflames my carpal tunnel like nothing else. I had to give up on a potentially cool Fallout 3 dungeon & landmass plugin because of this.

Well, I have to admit that I didn't put too much thought on the CS yet. Just hope it'll crash less offen and have better utilities, so, we don't need to have hundreds of other modded programs to run.
I also didn't like much the ideas of the one-piece armor and what they said about spears. I have the habit to use greaves without cuirass, maybe we can cut them in two. But the spears... I really don't agree. Cool that they want to focus on doing better things, but more weapons is never enough.

I don't like the one-piece armor either because it limits what modders can do and those of us who want to only wear parts of armor like pauldrons or greaves or even just boots. We'll see if that can be remedied when the game comes out. The lack of spears is just stupid.

It is the second Oblivion, unfortunately. But dragons and landscapes are beatiful.
