I can only confirm what has already been stated - it is stored in the save game when a unique npc dies, and Vilja and everyone else will be aware of that Illia is dead but not that you have been surrecting her. So there is nothing to do about it.

This is a problem that I have never heard of before, but my first thought is that this could be if you at some point have used the TIM command in the console (toggle immortality)
Have you checked if it helps to write TIM in the console? If TIM is on, writing it again should turn it off.
As far as I can understand, there is nothing that has been done to Vilja ver 4 that could trigger your problem; it is an animation file that has been replaced which prevents the hug-dying from happening, and it shouldn't affect the player in any non-Vilja-hugging situation.

I have released an update of this mod. There was an error with the cooking script, so if you had made mudcrab soup, you would continue to get only mudcrab soup from it. On my website, the new version is available. On Nexus, there is also an esp-only update (tiny download)

This mod has been upgraded to ver 1.1, see description in the first post.
There are no massive changes, but some notable improvements, like the boat to Leyawiin, and some new features, like the option to make wooden statues.
(Yes, Thenryb, Vilja does like this house but there is no Vilja-add-on for it).

This is the mod! It has an exclusion list, and in order to get rid of the shield on her back, and hopefully restore her normal restoration, you should use an exclusion list that belongs to that mod and add Vilja to it. You might have to cast the Vilja reset spell on her afterwards.
However, Sindra shouldn't be affected by the Dual sheath Redux at all, so it may be some other conflict that affects the animations, too.

You deserve more than kind words, Vilja is one of my favorite mod, she's so amazing I already test it, but not since the last update, so i do the following : Check her shield, 103 armor value Cast reset spell, ask to her to read a book: no animation Cast reset spell, Ask her to stay and relax, ask her to read a book : no animation change Remove all her stuff include clothing (sorry Vilja ^^), and i see she always has a shield in her back. I double check her inventory, but she only had her extra storage, luth and a book. Anyway I try to ask her to read same result. So i open the console, select her, and use "removeallitems" (just for test) command but she's always have this shield (I give a book and ask her to read, same result), maybe it's the culprit ? But i don't know how to fix that. After do it, When i execute "showinventory" on her, i've got two object with BAD Editor ID (360881C4 and C4003A69), it's the end of the list, so i don't know if there is another. I hope you have an idea, because, i'm lost... I try to remove BAD ID item, but no success PS: I hope that's understandable because, it's hard to me to explain it clearly in english Ah, yes... you are using a mod that has an exclusion list, but have forgotten to add Vilja to it. There is one, but i don't remember the name of it, that always add a shield to her back as it is incompatible with her wardrobe system, so I'm very glad for the exclusion list on it. Add her to the exclusion list, hopefully this will cure the problem. The BAD Editor ID is not an error, it is related to her wardrobe system. You also asked about her level, that she is only level 10. Well, as an npc, she doesn't really have a "level", only players have levels. But if you ask about her skills, you should see that they have been levelled up properly.

Hi and welcome Memnochs . Thank you for your kind words about Vilja, it is much appreciated. As you have been using Vilja for a long time and in several playthroughs, I suppose that you have already tried to cast the Vilja reset spell on her? (I'm asking just because you don't mention that you have done so). You could also check if Vilja happens to carry a shield with zero armor value (there exists such a shield in Dawnguard, and there might be others, from mods). If so, take this shield away from her and see if there is any improvement. Have you tried to make her read both when she is following you and when she is wandering around? If not, you should also check if this makes any difference. But, above all, make sure that you cast the Vilja reset spell on her.

I'm glad to hear that you found the reason for this - it's always a good idea to make sure that Vilja is wandering before updating to a new version. And it is great that this problem showed up already now - thank to you we now know what to tell others that might run into the same problem

Vilja is now updated to ver 4.2!
News:
- Side-by-side walking - developed from the system introduced in the Followers as Companions mod by Ishara Meradin. - Improved hotkeys attack system - Vilja should now hit her target more accurately. - Improved sneaking behaviour. Vilja can be ordered to stay away and take cover. - New flute music - four new tunes - for Vilja by Bosa123. - Tweaking of marksman behaviour - Vilja should no longer prefer steel arrows in combat but instead use the best possible arrows in her inventory. - Minor tweaks and corrections.

1- no, I don't think she will 2 - She wont benefit from better apparatus, but she will get better over time and there is a quest that teaches her more alchemy.

No, I think CI eventually just faded away from the community completely. Remember, she started to mod already in fall 2003 if I remember correctly (approx a little more than a year after me ), and she started her current forum in spring 2015. So, it has been a long, long time. As far as I know, she never modded for any other Elder Scrolls-game than Morrowind, although some of her work was converted to Oblivion. In fact, her forum, and in particular the download section for her mods, was her way to create a safe haven within the Elder Scrolls community. She said this quite often and made no secret of it publically (else I would not felt that I could write it here) I did download Elsweyr of Anequine from this site yesterday, right before I posted here, and i was successful. If you can not download the mod today either, let me know and I can forward it to you.

It is a very good mood. Unfortunately, less mature parts of the TES-audience have over the years had its fun with witch-hunting in particular high-profilic female modders to the point when they just throw in the towel. This is what has happened to Deserts of Anequina - if Iliana had been treated the way she deserved, I am sure her mods would still had been available on Nexus and that she would have kept on modding. Same goes for modders like CanadianIce and Korana, who also got witch-hunted in spite of - or because of - their wonderful, groundbreaking work. However, from what I can see, Deserts of Anequina is still available here: www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/files/file/1070-elsweyr-anequina/ In my download which I just made, the esp is included. It's a wonderful mod, I hope you enjoy it and, if you get any chance, you let Iliana know this.

Thank you, I'm so happy to hear this. Hope you'll enjoy the Morrowind mods, too . I'd recomment White Wolf of the Lokken Mountain.
