I'm sort of following Jackalope's STEP but more on the order of when stuff goes in and passing on some that are oldrim files, I mean if your hiding 50-90% of a texture mod why bother? I'm way more interested in game play, companions and armor/weapons. The road looking better or the floor of a cave isn't really that big a deal for me.

Just reinstalled the new skyrim binaries and cleaned them with SSEEdit 3.2.1 There has been some talk on AFK that the new newest version of SSEEdit does a better job with the 1.5.3 Skyrim binaries then the published xEdit 3.2. You can find the upload link at afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/3750-wipz-tes5edit/& at the bottom of the OP. xEdit 3.2.1 is suppose to be stable st least Arthmoor says it is. Just remember to rename the xEdit ext SSEEdit so it works on SSE. I tested the 3.2.1 by cleaning. Running a xEdit script (Creating a Valdacil's sort patch) And doing a simple patch.

Update Sooo been at it all day and have gotten my mods and ENb set up and doing LOOT. Of course LOOT's not auto-applying so am going down the list and it's been 14 hrs and fk it I'm going to bed!
FINS and animations can wait till the morning. And one last check to be sure I'm not missing any mods. At least I actually know this is stable as long as I don't toss any of this "alpha". "beta" crap in.

Anybody know of a good guide for mod conflict resolution with SSEdit? I'm going deep and need a life preserver.

If you find one post it. I never found one, and just learned by doing. gradually learning what things meant. Often I just settle conflicts in favor of the most critical mod or the mod that I assign a special function, i.e. A navemesh conflict would go to the quest mod I am most interested in; water conflicts would go with Water 2, lighting with ELFX (Unless it looks like a quest mode has done serious work in an area so they might be trying to set a special mood.
If your using SSEdit be sure to use 3.2.1 it has some stuff designed around the last skyrim patch.

Well MO2 just quit again. I'm afraid that there is an instability in my system that the constant app crashes of LOOT, Wrybash and FINS with MO2, builds on till it creates a critical error in the game or MO2. I'm not sure what I will end up doing. Play SE un-modded which looks like crap, wait for Vortex or go back to Oldrim.

I have always had issues with LOOT not creating a proper load order. Say a mod says put below X, LOOT thinks they are wrong and does whatever it thinks is best.

You know you can create your own custom rules to correct things like that. That way you can use LOOT to help, and not worry it going to undo your corrections.

No, I didn't. Not super tech type guy, Google pro though. I'm not a great under the hood gamer. But love Skyrim.

You can set priority which will affect the general area in your mod list it will be sorted. You can tell it that a mod should be load after another mod.
Those are the two I use the most.
One mod I add a bashtag. But that is getting pretty technical in my book.

Not many ENBs will be using them yet. NVT Dolomite and NAT presents have been updated some others may as well but at this time I am using NVT so it is only one I am keeping track of.
