Regarding bFixFaceNormals I'm not sure I understand. You can turn off self shadowing on people through the regular game interface, through the preferences. No need to issue script commands or edit INIs. That works fine with Vilja: I've been playing this way for years. I have googled on this, and it seem that the idea is to make the self shadowing viable instead of disabling it.

I noticed another little problem. I wanted Vilja to be a marksman, but she doesnt actually shoot arrows. In a battle, there are shooting animations and sounds but she is shooting air. After the battle she still has the same ammount of arrows in her inventory. The not shooting arrows happens from time to time. As far as I have heard, no one has any idea why. Maybe it's just Oblivion's AI being odd. It hasn't happened to me (I know this because Vilja shoots my character!!!). This next bit might be completely wrong, but it seems to work for me ... Give her "better" (or more expensive?) arrows. I think that maybe she is a bit of a snob in the arrow department. Try silver or Dwarven to start with. If you have Shivering Isles, the Golden Saints & Dark Seducers sometimes leave them in just-slain enemies. I usually give her daedric as soon as I can. Yes, daedric stuff is expensive, but you only have to give her one arrow. Oh: one other thing: arrows that she shoots are regenerated in her inventory: she's an arrow factory. The problem (that affects all NPCs) is related to (not necesarilly caused by) the marksman attack animation. Sadly while I do some serious testing on this bug, I know very little about animations and hadn't much time nor motivation latelly to learning on it. The important thing, is that this glitch happens depending on the armor, melee weapon, bow and arrow matching. Depending the combination you choose, you can avoid this completelly, suffer it constantly or something in between. I think the armor has less incidence than the other three factors, but melee weapon is at least as important (maybe more) as the bow and arrow selection.

It's a OBSE pluggin that avoid some of the more common CTD, by avoiding the interruption being executed. alcari, if I were you I wouldn't update to 293 neither install or change any other mod while WEOPS reports a crash avoiding each few minutes. It's better to fix current unstability problems before making changes that could introduce more of them. I think you need to discharge CPU stress by performance optimizers like Oblivion stutter remover and quiet feet. You could also use one of FCOM esp files for less crowded encounters.

Didn't found any bug. One thing that I think will appeal to OMOD users is the fact that having Red Rose Manor installed, there is no need to install this mod's resources (this way as there are only esp files, there is no need to make an OMOD).

Sometimes, when you start a conversation with her in the wilderness, she will inform you of her finding an ingredient. This can happen only once a day.

Uncheck the mod, open Oblivion load the last saved game and save again, check the mod, go to the Bloated float and recruit Vilja, go to Cheidinhal, find Heneri (a green haired dunmer woman, she should be in one of the inns or in the streets), hit her with Vilja startcombat spell. Now you will have the option to answer some questions to determine the point in her quest and in the relationship you were at. The equipment she has is lost.

If you can read the subtitles but you can't hear the dialog, I suppose the problem is in the sound resources in your data directory. Maybe a mod changing the race of every NPC could do the same (though in this case, you would ear the voices of NPCs whose races are added by mods like Vilja)

I had tried going to testing hall with 'coc' command and then returning with 'coc' again, with frostcrag reborn teleport spell and going to Hawkhaven and fast travelling from there and there is no changes in Vilja. Are you sure you hadn't used the 'resurrect' command on her accidentally?

You are unable to access Vilja's inventory when she has her bound helmet equiped.
Anyway, even supposing the game didn't freeze (you could use additem/removeitem functions as a fake spell effect), should the player has the chance of accessing the inventory, could take the summoned object, which would lead to a bunch of unwanted side effects.

One of the causes is fast travelling when she is swimming. It happens also in side's sailing ship if you activate a ship while swimming (you are teleported to the ship deck and Vilja follows you. She appears a little above and swims a little until she reaches the deck).
In both cases the mechanism seems to be the same, the NPC, in this case Vilja, is performing the swimming animation and then is teleported outside of water, without a transition out of water which should stop the animation.
Following this logic, I suppose this can also happen if you are far enough for Vilja (or any other companion) needing teleporting to you, while she is in the water and you have reached the land.

There is a BSA package included in the file. The esm should find meshes there. Should this didn't work propperly as in your case, there is an executable, bsareg, in the download that should fix your ini file to target that BSA.

I suppose you are asking about companion Vilja mod. It didn't use OBSE, the only file needed is the last official patch. Anyway, there is an OBSE version available for steam users.
