No, that's the wrong cave. This one is called Grundalund, it's on the Lokken island, you have to levitate to get to it, and it is HUGE!!

It's on the west side of the island, facing the water. You shouldn't be able to enter it at all until you have talked to Ingemar, and then it should open without problems.

Yes, you can console them to you. Call up the console and type:

Uh oh... That indeed sounds like a bug. What is somewhat amazing is that no-one has mentioned it before, in spite of the fact that the mod has been out for 3 months. AND none of the playtesters noticed it! May I just ask if this was during the main quest or afterwards, if you were playing a male or female character and if you were married to her?
It would be good to know, else I might have to replay the whole mod in order to find the trigger.
When I have your reply, I'll correct it and make a mini-update.

I haven't checked yet, but my guess is that this is indeed a little bug that was never found. It might very well be that it only shows up once you are married to Laurenna. I'll look it over!

Oh well, I tried installing Sabregirls ecology of Morrowind today. There was not a single bear or wolf left in Lokken! :shock: The forests were empty. Laura Craft died. Sabregirls mod did something strange. Imagine the look on my face when 40 reavers were coming at me! I lasted for about 10 minutes. This happened on Lokken Island

No, it's probably a little loop that no-one has ran into before - obviously people only ask her to step aside when she needs to step aside wink. I'll have a look at it.

I'm not surprised that a mod called "Ecology of Morrowind" indeed affects the cology of Morrowind, and that you suddenly have reavers instead of bears and wolves in Lokken (although I doubt that this was Sabregirls intention). Adding new mods can also cause doubling issues in other mods, and the huge amount of new reavers could be the result of doubling issue. If they are too tought to handle, and if you feel that they shouldn't be there, treat them as you treat other doubling issues. When you have them in front of you, call up the console. Click on one of them, so that his id-name shows up at the top of the console. type:

disable.

He will disappear.

Keep on doing this with as many reavers as you want to get rid of.

I'm thinking of making an esm-version of Lokken, as many people seem to use it permanently in their games. With an esm-version, you won't have any doubling issues, and it's easier to use add-ons for Lokken. I have checked with TeuTonic, who built the island, and it's OK with him.

So, I might upload both an esp and an esm version, and at the same time correct the problem with Laurenna's step aside.

I have now uploaded a new version of Lokken, and also a new separate esp-file. You should be able to upgrade without problems, just make sure that your saved game is younger than the upgrade. And, by all means, make a safety copy of your saved game first!!

Except for fixing this loop, I have only made it possible for the clothier to buy and sell armor, and given the merchant 100 gold extra.

As for esm-version, I'm waiting for the voice editing of nord children. It's being worked on right now. The Lokken children are silent, and I want them to have voices!

As this update was so small, I haven't changed version number.

Hints: The castle prison is in the basement. You might also want to talk with people in the main hall.

Hehe, 1 year after my first visit in Lokken, I STILL don't find the way to the prison and am always completely frustrated when I'm in that basement! BigGrin. On the other hand, in real life, I only need two blocks of houses to get completely lost in any normal town. Rolling Eyes
But, if you visit a medevial european castle, basements are like that: huge, long corridors, easy to get lost. So, I'd say TeuTonic made a very realistic job on that basement grin

You know, maybe those who used to live in real castles didn't find their way around in the basements? And maybe that's why we always imagine the basements with skeletong - the sad remains of previous owners that got lost in the labyrinths BigGrin.
It was TeuTonic who put the bearskins there, and I agree that they are good to have there - without them, I wouldn't find my way, either.

Hmm... obviously, the letter you get about Lokken is causing a problem if it is given to you already on the prison ship.

The simple solution is:

Start the game without Lokken enabled.
Once you are outside the Census office in Seyda Neen, save game and leave the game. Enable Lokken and start your game again. Now everything will work smoothly.

* Good luck.... and, I think you should make sure that you level a bit before you go to Lokken, as some of the enemies might be a bit hard for a really low-level character.

As you have just started a new game, don't keep that one. Start fresh!

When you start a new game, it's a good rule to only use MW and the expansion packs (Tribunal and Bloodmoon) until you have finished the conversation in the Census office. Once you are out in Seyda Neen, you can add the mods you want to use. That way, you won't have any error messages and no doubled Jiubs. I very much doubt that you need to reinstall Morrowind or anything like that.

I think it might be a good idea to be at least level 12 or so before attempting to go to Solstheim, as the enemies are generally a lot harder there than in Morrowind.

Well, I haven't even considered that anyone would want to go ahead with a Bloodmoon quest while they still haven't learnt how to levitate, as levitating is one of the most basic needs when you play Morrowind. I frankly have no idea if I made Granny or Snorri or the merchant sell levitation * potions or scrolls. To me, levitating is one of the basic MW needs, like owning a weapon an a couple of hundreds of Gold. It's not unlikely that you will have to go and buy that potion elsewhere, but you might also find such potions if you do the tomb quest for the smith, as there are standard levelled chests in that tomb, and if you are lucky, they might include levitation potions or scrolls. But, their content are random, so I don't know what you will find.

As a sidenote (I just read your post on the ES forum, too), the treestump gauntlets are * not the same as the gauntlets for Wulfren. But the gauntlets in the tree are not the ones you need for the mainquest, they are for your personal usage. grin

I found Lokken quite confusing, too. It's small but so many mountains there you need to walk in circles a lot. Makes the island appear much larger than it is - smart design :Embarrassed Try to reveal the whole island on your map, then your troubles are gone. A nice levitate spell helps, too.

two nords Your first question has already been replied to by Peter, and I can only confirm what he says.

As for the second part: I don't think they say that you haven't rescued him, they are just reminding you... They are doing so twice each I think, in order to make sure that you don't forget about this quest (which can be done whenever you want to).
Originally, they didn't talk to you about this after you had rescued the guy. But I made a small update once, in order to make sure that another dialog executed correctly also if you played the quests in a weird way. And somehow this update had the effect that they will remind you about the prisoner regardless if you have rescued him or not. Good that you reminded me - I should look into this before I complete the esm-version.

This is a confirmed issue with Vampire Embrace. The vampire greeting overwrites all first-greetings that is filtered for "Talked to PC" - not only in this mod but also in other - and this is what happens when you talk to Ragnar.

Another player ran into this problem with his vampire character, and he has generously offered to share a patch he is working on.

So, once he has finished testing with his vampire, there will be some kind of update - patch or new, vampire-friendly, esp. You can look for it here or on my site.

The latest VampireEmbrace 2.2 release offers a workaround for this, but it requires to modify Lokken, which is what I'm trying to do at the moment. Unfortunately you cannot modify Vampire Embrace and suddenly all quest mods are fixed.

I played through Lokken with a vampire character last week, and this problem only seems to affect the initial Ragnar dialog. I didn't encounter the issue further in the quest. However, I'm still checking the main characters to make sure I didn't miss any possible problems later. This is a bit boring and dull work, so I take my time.

Hi,
The reason why I didn't give the player the hammer and the gloves is that, well, they are a bit "uber" to say the least wink. And many, many players actually gets upset when they get uber-items from a mod...
But, the problem is easily sorted out. You can grab them by using the console. Ingame, call up the console (usually behind the § or ' key) and type exactly as follows:

Player->AddItem "aa_Left Gauntlet Thorjon" 1
Player->AddItem "aa_Right Gauntlet Thorjon" 1
Player->AddItem "aa_warhammer_Thor_Bjorg" 1

(You'll need the gauntlets as well, else you won't be strong enough to use the hammer).

If you look in the throne room, the hammer is actually there after the mainquest, but now it is a static, i.e. you cannot grab it and use it (placed next to the throne).

Anyway, glad to hear that you have else liked the mod grin. Hope you will continue to like Lokken and maybe even make it your second "home" in MW.

You don't have to marry Wulfren in order to continue with the side quests or to gain full access to the castle grin. You will only miss the "happy ending" - i.e. the matrimony and the title "Lady of Lokken".
Instead, make sure that you talk to Wulfren and fulfil his request to give the mead free to the people, that will trigger all sidequests and make people respond to you are their local heroine.

Alas, there is no chance to start a same sex romance with Laurenna or Wulfren. Simply because it would have brought me into such complicated dialog/scripting issues that I had to decide against it. If your heroine wants a girlfriend, she could always start dating Laura Craft instead - she will be just as much in love with a female char as with a male.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the story, hope you will enjoy the small side quests as well. grin

There's a developer's script in the mod as well that'll give you the location (x, y, z, and angle) of any object. I use this to get target locations for the teleport ring.

Interested? I can put up what I have now in a temporary location; I do need to fix up the teleport a bit, though.

The teleport ring I mentioned is working nicely now; I've got 20 locations on it, including Fort Frostmoth and the master bedroom in LoKKen Castle. She (or Wulfren, if you're married to him instead) also shows up in front and slightly to the right of your position. Works nicely, and saves a ton of walking around. That's weird? In my game and throughout playtesting, Lena and Solveig reacted to presents like any other kid, if you had the CoM mod enabled, of course. I know it, because I specifically tested.

Try this and tell me what happens:

Open up the console, click on one of them so that the ID-name shows up at the top of the console.
Type:
set knowyou to 6.

Check again what they say when you talk to them about toys and candies.

SV

it should do a handy dump of all her variables, knowyou included. If not, it should mutter something about no local variables in script on 1em_lena or something similar.

There was a problem someone encountered, I forget who, where the console wouldn't recognise the main Enter key but only the numeric keypad Enter. Don't think this is a problem in your case if * you're seeing responses to what you type, but thought I should mention it since it's such a bizzare problem.

EDIT: Oh, and if you type "SV" without an object name at the top of the console window, it will show all the global variables. Can be a little overwhelming.

OK... I've figured it out! Smile

The problem is NOT the local variable knowyou - in fact, these kids don't have - and shouldn't have - that variable.

The 'problem' is that IF you have CoM but not "Your Morrowind family" running, there will be some replies in the topic for toys and candies that will overwrite the original child replies. These are the replies for my own npcs, those who have an emmasnpc-id (which also the Lokken children have).

The result is that the topic toys and candies will not work on the Lokken children in the following areas:

Balmora
Dagon Fel
Caldera
Sadrith Mora
Gnisis
Suran
Ald-ruhn
Tel Mora
Hla Oad
Vivec
Seyda Neen

During one of my tests, I had Your Morrowind Family installed, and during the other one, I went from Khuul to Solstheim, so I never ran into the issue.

Now, as soon as you leave the areas mentioned above, those kids will consume candies just as enthusiastically as any other MW child.

Alas, they won't be equally enthusiastic about the fairy tales... It's because I have filtered the response where you give them books for the short knowyou function. Sad

The good news is that Robert2 has finished the human teenager heads, and that i am about to make a new version of Children of Morrowind. The best way for me to deal with this is to fix it within CoM, as that is where the 'problem' is located.

Until that is fixed, I suggest that you just take a quick walk outside these towns if you want to give the kids new toys or candies.

I'll make a fix for the problem, one way or another...

Sounds great, only one problem, I took the kids from Khuul to Lokken, and never went anywhere else with them, they gave me the adult response dialog for the toys and candy in Lokken *)

But I can just wait for the patch, that works, thank you

I recently downloaded "Childern of Morrowind" which seems to be running O.K. It could be related to that you added one more esm to your ongoing game.
Question: Does the same thing happen when you save in INTERIORS in Lokken? Or is it just in exterior areas?

I know that people who add and remove mods frequently from their game tend to have problems with reloading games from exteriors (not related to Lokken or the Children, it's a general thing) whereas reloading from interiors won't cause any problems at all. If this is the case with your game, it might be easier just to make sure that you save in an interior in Lokken before you leave game than trying to find the source of the problem.

My guess is still that it is caused by that you have added a new esm, and that a modded landmass as Lokken might be more "vulnerable" to such changes than the game-original landmasses.

I also tried something else that didn't work, and that was to "transport" my character to Seedya Neen (silt strider port) just before the game crashed again, but it crashed anyway. I hate to have to delete this paticilur game because the character has been through so much. As I mentioned before, this game is the only one acting like this, but its the only game where anybody has gone to Lokken.

Did he just arrive in Lokken, or has he completed his quests?
If you have other saves that are made in Lokken, do they also crash? I know that at certain points, there is a local targeted script running in the throne room, this could possibly be the reason, especially if you have just added new mods. but in that case, other saves in Lokken shouldn't be affected.

This particular character went to Lokken to find a man and get married, what else was there to do for a Nerevarine who's knocked off two gods to do? Anyway, I may have found a temp solution. I re-installed a saved game that I had sitting in my recycle bin. My character had compleated all the quests, and had just married Wulfren. I started again from this point, teleported (via another mod) my character back to Vvardenfell, did some moving around in Balmora and saved again, so far nothing has crashed. I'm a little lerry of sending her back to Lokken for fear of crashing again, what do you think?

I would reall ylove to play this mod, but i am getting an error when i try to save it in the CS. I get an error that says, "Moved referance not found in master file, Creat new referance?". I have no idea what this means. Any suggestions?

Yes this happens. When you load it into the CS only select lokken. Do not select bloodmoon.

Lokken changes some thing in bloodmoon, and becaause bloodmoon is an esm you get all these errors. Just like when you are loading all three esm's.

Just ignore it. Lokken works this way. I have the same errors in the CS.

The question is: *Why* do you want to save the mod in the CS? If you just want to adjust the load order, other utilities like TESTool, touch, Wyre Mash etc. do the job as well, without risking to mess up the mod.

The advise to resave a mod to adjust the filedate is given often, but that doesn't make it a good advise.

I do that because when i started using mods a couple years ago, people would say to load it in the cs and save. I do have TES Tool. But, i use that to merge leveled lists.
